Many artists struggle to define their musical identity, trying on styles like clothing, searching to find what fits. Others grasp onto a vision that commands their craft and their music. Hayden Forsee’s vision seems written into his soul. When asked, he recites a quote by Bruce Lee: "Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless—like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."

An unmistakable voice coupled with raw acoustic and soaring electric guitars that twist and turn, sometimes churning with grizzled blues, rich and funky rock & roll, and even jazz undertones, Forsee’s new self-titled EP heralds the arrival of a singer-songwriter whose music strikes out on its own while feeling comforting and familiar.
